A painting by the artist Rob Grams. The original picture was painted with oil on canvas (116 x 89 cm.), in 2017.
Nothing feels better than a cathartic scream, does it? I wanted to visually represent a visceral emotion, a frustration and anger, something I’ve since gone on to do in several paintings.
The colors and painting style introduce a dichotomy between the painting and the subject. The color palette is happy, bright and vivid, in contrast to the dark and violent emotion. Is there such a thing as anger without negativity? I tried to answer that question with this piece.
