Description

A painting by the artist Rob Grams. The original picture was painted with oil on canvas (116 x 81 cm.), in 2018.
This piece is a follow up to ""A" is for Abstract", a piece dealing with ideas of courage, rebellion and heart.
At first sight, due to the size and the subject of the piece, it can be quite visceral. I’ve found the longer I leave people with it, the more it becomes their favorite of my work.
As with the apple, this is the core of a human. The pieces in between the veins, painted with a vibrant mix of warm tones, almost look like the facets of a diamond. It speaks again of bravery and rebellion; in a world where our lives are portrayed in curated meaningless soundbites and snippets.
Sometimes the bravest and most rebellious thing we can do, is to lay our hearts bare to the world, raw and ugly.
