Description
A painting of a business man without head, by the artist Rob Grams. The original picture was painted with oil on canvas (116 x 81 cm.), in 2018.
As an artist who maintains strong ties in the corporate world, I have always found the corporate uniform fascinating, and as in all uniforms, part of their design is to de-personalize and deindividualize the person wearing it. Is there really a difference between a suit and a McDonalds uniform? A suit and a police uniform?
I painted this at the beginning of a stint in corporate Europe, where I encountered many boilerplate businessmen; stock, ready to be replaced and wheeled out to the shop floor at a moment’s notice.
